SPECIAL LIFE NETWORK is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas. We are all about helping children with disabilities to become better integrated into the church and broader community.

SPECIAL LIFE® Community Programs and Services are designed to increase awareness, education and integration of individuals with disabilities in the church and broader community. Below is a list of current programs and services.

SPECIAL LIFE NETWORK may hold and participate in seminars and events to create a higher level of awareness in the community about the unique needs of children and adults with disabilities. Increased awareness is the first step to facilitate churches and other community organizations to provide more meaningful integration opportunities into their programs, activities and events. SPECIAL LIFE NETWORK also develops materials to increase awareness.

SPECIAL LIFE® Community Network Meetings

SPECIAL LIFE NETWORK may hold and participate in 5-6 Community Network Meetings per year to network churches and other community resources. The objective is to better integrate children and adults with disabilities into the church and the broader community. Church and community leaders, volunteers and families that care for a child or adult with a disability attend. Guest speakers provide information of interest to the SPECIAL LIFE® Community.

SPECIAL LIFE® Disability Program Start Up & Support
SPECIAL LIFE NETWORK provides support to churches and community organizations starting up new disability programs/ministries by sharing best practices, processes, materials, recommendations and curriculum modification ideas. When possible, SPECIAL LIFE NETWORK will participate in meetings of other organizations to facilitate the startup of new disability programs and improve integration.

SPECIAL LIFE® E-Community Website
The SPECIAL LIFE® E-Community Website with its E-Resource Library provides one information source for churches and other community organizations with disability programs and for primary caretakers of children and/or adults with disabilities. The website will eventually link the disabled community with churches and other support organizations, both national and international.

SPECIAL LIFE® Training & Education Events
SPECIAL LIFE® Training & Education Events provide training and educational workshops to the community to support the continued growth of programs that help integrate individuals with disabilities into the church and broader community. Recent events include SPECIAL LIFE® Volunteer Training for disability programs/ministries and SPECIAL LIFE® American Sign Language Workshops and Classes.

SPECIAL LIFE® Charitable Fundraising and Giving
The SPECIAL LIFE® Charitable Fundraising and Giving program raises funds to provide support to churches and other community organizations that provide programs and services to the disabled population. For example, in 2006, SPECIAL LIFE NETWORK made financial contributions to two different deaf ministries. Distributions are directed specifically to organizations that work with or are involved with helping individuals with disabilities.
